HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SIS

Hi everyone.  I am so excited because we are taking my sister to Las Vegas for her birthday.  Actually we are already there.  Her special day is 6/29 so I wanted us to be there on the weekend even though the prices of a hotel are not what they use to be.  What happened to the good summer rates because that desert is HOT this time of year?  Oh well, I used Hotwire and got a booking at the Tropicana that was satisfactory.  I also wanted to get tickets to see Beyoncé there that Saturday, but lawd the cheapest ones were $150.  Not in my budget so I will have to look for something more reasonable.  I will also be taking her to eat her birthday dinner at M & M's Soul Food Restaurant.  The food was good last time we were there and she likes it.  We will also make sure we make a stop at Viva las Vegas stamp store.
Ok, now for the fun part.  I wanted to make her a special and unique card to fit the occasion, so I had fun coming up with this step card. I also made a plaid  envelope with the Envelope punch board.   HAPPY BIRTHDAY EUNICE.

LOST MY MOJO

Hi folks, it has been over a week since I last posted.  I think I lost my mojo for a bit and did not feel very creative or like creating at all.  I finally made myself make a few cards so that my blog would not get too stale.  I made two Afrocentric style cards and a get well card for a male cousin.  The African ladies and the old man are images by Robert Jackson, www.fineartsbyrobertjackson.com.  The other image is one I found on Facebook.  Once again, thank you for stopping by for a visit.

LAYOUTS AND CARDS

Hi crafty friends.  Today I am back with something I rarely do these days and that is layouts.  The reason I did this was because of a challenge over at Scraps of Color for Friday nite chat (FNC).  I try to be supportive of my sisters over there whenever I can.  A sketch was given and I had to alter it a bit to fit my needs.  I am late posting it but at least I did it.  I wanted to document my 60th birthday anyway so this gave me a jump start.

Next I was ask to make an anniversary card for a FB friend.  I hope he does not mind me sharing it.  I added a picture and his pet name for his wife on it.  I am loving the side step cards. The image is by Robert Jackson. Hope he likes it as much as I liked making it.  The heart with the couple wobbles.
Last, I made a belated birthday card for a lady I have known for years, but don't see often.  I chose to make an easel card.  The image was a freebie called Say Cheese that I found on FB.  Thank you all for being my internet friends and thank you for stopping by.

FATHER'S DAY

I have not had a father for so long, but I still think of him often and miss him.  However, I see so much of my dad in my two youngest brothers.  My youngest brother particular reminds me of my dad in looks and behavior.  I sometimes call him Bill Martin, like father like son.  I did not make many Father's Day cards this year, but I did manage to do four.  Two are for my brother's and two are a request.  The first two images are by Anji and the last two are by Robert Jackson.   I will be entering some of these in http://memascrafts.blogspot.com/2010/06/junes-challenge-with-twist.html.  Thanks for looking.

PAY IT F0RWARD

Hello everyone.   I am back after a few days of nothing.  It is darn hot here in Tucson and it makes one lazy.  It was about 109 here yesterday.  Anyhow, on to the project.  At the start of the new year in January, Scraps of Color http://scrapsofcolor.ning.com/ post a challenge to "Pay it Forward".  Well, I was a bit hesitant since I had done this the year before on Face  Book and people did not follow through.  On this one the time was shorter than one year (which people forget about after a few months) We had six months to complete something and send to only two people.  I can handled this right?  Needles to say I became a slacker and did not have them ready on the due date of May 31st.  When I returned from my vacation I had to kick it in full gear to get something in the mail with in a week.  I hate being called a slacker or not being able to commit and follow through.  I combined all the things these two ladies said they liked and here is what I came up with.  Thanks for allowing me to share.  I had fun with these.

Coaster Jewelry

Hello folks, just wanted to share with you the last project that was inspired while I was in Wichita.  While we were having Seafood Buffet at Legends, we started playing with the coasters and thinking what can we make.  You know us crafters are always looking at things different than most folks.  We decided "hey we can all make  big ole ear rings.  Our waitress heard us and brought some back to the table to us.  I decided to give out a challenge in the Robert Jackson Digi group over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge is to make anything you want with a coaster (or more) as long as it has a Robert Jackson image on it.

Without further ado here is my big old ear rings.................

The backs of the ear rings are covered in silver crafting mesh.  I am gonna have fun with these at the next crop.   Thanks for stopping in.   Peace out
