TERRY MEDARIS IMAGE

Hi, I am back with a short post about a local artist here in Tucson, AZ.  I have been admiring the coloring of this artist way back when I first saw him teaching Prisma classes at Ben Franklins.  Does anyone remember that craft store?  That was over 15 yrs ago.  I am finally going to take one of his beginner classes along with 7 of my crafty friends.  If you would like to see some of his work, go here terrymedarisartstamps.net. This is one of his stamps I bought at the stamp show.  Peace out

PRIMA COWGIRL BECKY

Hope you all had a great weekend.  As for me, I could not wait to get this Prima Cow girl Becky to work on.  They are back ordered here so a friend sent me a couple til I can get mine.  I have a special place in my heart for cowboys and cowgirls as my father was an original Arizona Black Cowboy.   I chose to paper piece rather than just color.  Thanks for taking the time to look.

See you soon.

2 FRIENDS BIRTHDAYS

Hello people, back with a couple of birthday cards.  The first one is for a lady who has been in our group for about 10 yrs when we called ourselves The Wine and Dine Scrappers.  We had to help her celebrate 60 years of life.  I made a circle easel card for her with a cute Art Impressions image.
Next one is for a crafty lady I met on FB through another friend.  Ms. Letty has attended a couple of our crops and she is a pleasant addition.  Not only is she crafty, but she is an avid reader and a good cook to boot.  Her card came about because I was participating in Friday Nite Chat Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  The challenge was to use some mixed media stuff to make back ground paper and it had to have a circle or a square and it had to be a gate fold card.  I am not into too much mix media/art journal kinda stuff, so it was a challenge for me. I finally decided to use stencils and distressed ink to create my card.  Hope you like it as it is out of the box for me.

ROSE'S RETIREMENT

Don't you just love when someone has paid their dues and it is time to retire? My friend Tonya's (may she rest in peace) mother Rose retired last Friday and could not be more HAPPY.  I will be taking her to lunch tomorrow and made this paper bag card for her.  It has a retirement poem in the front opening pocket.  I will be adding a Starbuck gift card in the inside short pocket.  This was fun to create and if you have no made one, you should try it.

I'D SAY IT WAS A GOOD WEEKEND

Hi folks, I hope you all had a good past weekend because I had a great weekend.  I attended the Stampfest here in Tucson with several of my crafty friends.  We spent from 10 to 10 on Saturday and from 11 to 5 at a crop there.  I had such a good time shopping, crafting and laughing with these crazy ladies. There was a Hawaiian theme, but we were the only ones dressed.  Ok, so I really had one more high point to this weekend,  did I tell you I was the grand prize winner on Sunday?  Oh yeah I won something.  A Grand Calibur and a lot of other crafty goodness.

It was hard getting anything done with all the talking and laughing we were doing, but I did some things.  I complete a Birthday card and gift for one of my Scraps of Color sisters.  I am also entering these to the SOC Sista/Brotha Bloggers Challenge which is Animal Print.  My print paper is some kind of funky animal print that I had bought a while back in San Antonio.  I made a 8 1/2x5 card and a matching wall plaque.  I got the plaque at the dollar store and altered it.

Next a BIG (8 1/2x5) birthday card for my uncle using a Robert Jackson image
Last I made a card using an Art Impression stamp.  Hope my post was not too long, but I was a bit hyped.  Thanks for stopping in and allowing me to share.

EASTER CARDS FOR SENIORS

Easter is on the way, so I thought I would get started on some cards to take to the seniors at Quincie Douglas Center.  One of my scrappy friends came by this evening and we worked on cards for a couple of hours.  We need to make about 45 or 50.  Here are two of the ones that I completed using images by Robert Jackson.  Till we meet again.

New Rubbernecker Stamps

I went to the Rubber Stamp Convention in Mesa, Az last Saturday and had a blast shopping for things I thought I needed.  I was also fortunate enough to see my cards displayed at the Rubbernecker booth.  They had some new African American stamps which I had to buy some of.  You might want to go check them out http://www.rubbernecker.com/.  Any way I played with them the last two days and here is what I did.

Well, that is it for now.  Glad you stopped by.  Until next time ---Peace

Happy Birthday Dion

Hi, back again with a quick post of my beautiful niece Dr. Dion Nicole Martin's 34th birthday card.  This child works hard and plays just as hard now that she is settled into her career.  I am still loving BIG cards for the moment.  I used a Prima stamp because it is a BIG stamp also.  The skirt is paper pieced with the same shimmery paper I used to mat with.  Thanks for letting me share with you.
