THE WIZ CHALLENGE #2

A few days ago I posted the Tin Man from the Wiz for a relay Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  This week our image was the Lion. My take on it comes from the fact that he was found at a library in one of the columns. As he broke out trying to display his courage he heads down the yellow brick road.  Of course, all the images for this challenge are Robert Jackson digis.  I have decided to make mine all Valentine themed.
This second card is a belated birthday card for my friend Lela over at http://creationsofmypinkjourney.blogspot.com/.  I actually used a real rubber stamp for the first time in a year.  It is a Rubbernecker stamp.  Thank you all for stopping in.

HAPPY 60th BARBARA

Hi folks, so my brother calls me on January 14 stating he would like for me to create a collage page for his wife's 60th birthday.  He said he would need it by January 24th.  Sounds like no problem, but first of all I was going to be leaving town for the weekend.  Monday was a holiday, so I could not mail it then.  Did I mention that my brother lives in Chicago? Also I had to wait for him to email the pics then send them to get printed.  I soon realized this would be bigger than a one page collage as he has sent about 22 pictures.  I know I have my work cut out so I decided to stay up Thursday nite until I finished this project.  3:00 a.m. I was done and ready to mail on Friday.  What I chose to make was a keepsake accordion mini album which is housed in a cute box.  Thank you for stopping in and Happy birthday Barbara Martin.

CHALLENGES CHALLENGES

Hi people, hope everyone is doing well and able to get your craft on.  I have made several things but have been too lazy to post.  I have been working on a couple of challenges over at Scraps of Color.  The first one is for The Sista/Brotha Challenge  Wk 3: MLK/Heritage and Legacy In honor of the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the challenge this week is to either create a project featuring the civil rights leader, creations celebrating your heritage, or what impact you hope to leave for future generations.  I did a card representing some of my heritage which is the afro and pick.  I was told by Robert Jackson (his image), that this was a man.  LOL it is a woman now.
The next card is for The Robert Jackson Digi Group challenge.  This is a challenge where you have to complete the first one to continue getting each new character from the Wiz.  The first one is the Tin Man.  I chose a New York theme along with the yellow brick road since that is where the Wiz took place.  My card is an easel card
Thank you  so much for stopping in as you are always welcome.

With Deepest Sympathy

Last week was a sad week as we found out that my daughters grandmother had passed away.  This was my ex-mother-in law and up until a couple of weeks ago she never failed to tell me that she loved me every time we spoke.  My daughter did not see her much, but they spoke on the phone almost every week.  May she rest in peace and may the Joyce Family find peace in knowing she is going home to her father.  Love you Ms. Henrietta.

2014 Sistah/Brotha Bologgers

Hello everyone,  Just wanted to share a couple of cards with you today before I head out to Old Tucson.  Our weather today is about 71 so it should be nice.  The first card is for the Sistha/Brotha challenge over at Scraps of Color. to  It is about Hattitude. You must use a hat.  I chose to try a paper pieced project.  It looked better in my head  LOL.  Oh well.  Sorry for the not so good pictures. I am still not liking my new printer/scanner.
This next card is one for my mother's 93 yo neighbor who told her she would like to have a card from me.  Who could not respect that?  I also enjoy making Sassy Senior cards. :)  Have a great day.

My First Official crafts for 2014

Hi Peeps, told you I would be back with some real projects before the week was over.  Well, this is what I have been working on, some name plaques and note holders out of acrylic frames.  I made these two for a couple of old co-workers I met for Happy Hour yesterday.  They always seem to enjoy my little gifts.

So sorry about the glare.  That acrylic did not want to act right.  The last project is a sympathy card which I made for one of my Desert Divas scrapping buddies. I got this new die for Christmas.  Hope you all are on a roll for this year.  Peace out.

Grammies Baby

Hello and Happy New Year everyone.  Hope this year will bring good things and lots of creativeness.  I personally have not completed a project for 2014, but I will before the week is out.  For the time being I have been enjoying this little fur ball.  His name is Armani and he is 8 weeks old.  Hope he brings a smile to your face as he does me.  Thanks for stopping by and see  you soon.
